Matthew Tuttle came to Ward Black Law in 2020 as a Personal Injury and Wrongful Death Paralegal.  In this role, he reviews initial intakes and helps determine case acceptance.  He processes the early stages of the file, investigates coverage, files claims, gathers supporting documents, requests medical records, and follows up with clients through the treatment process.

Matthew has a Paralegal Associates Degree and interned with the Forsyth County Clerk of Court.  He is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association Paralegal Division and also serves as the current Chair of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice (NCAJ) Paralegal Division.  One of the things he enjoys about working at Ward Black Law is advocating for our clients and witnessing the impact the result of the case has on their lives.

A Winston-Salem native, Matthew graduated from Reynolds High School.  He worked at an automotive shop changing oil (and currently still does on his weekends).  He would spend his afternoons gathering with friends playing football and basketball at his neighborhood park.  His favorite childhood food was spaghetti and that was the first meal he learned how to prepare himself.  Matthew believes strongly in fairness, that everyone should be viewed as equal and that the law should level the playing field despite another person’s resources.

Outside of work, Matt enjoys adventuring and exploring with his girlfriend, finding live music, and spending time outside relaxing.  He loves listening to the Slow Burn Podcast and his favorite books are The Great Gatsby and Killing Kennedy.  He tackles life with this quote in mind, “I count him braver who overcomes his desires than him who conquers his enemies, for the hardest victory is over self.”
