Westinghouse Power Plants

The photographs in the gallery below are from the Westinghouse Corporation and show a type of large blanket-style insulation that was often used on the outside of turbine generators and related equipment particularly in older fossil-fuel powerhouses. You can see the workers stitching the blankets which were filled with raw asbestos fiber, and then the way that those blankets and coverings were used in their intended locations.

These photos offer a small glimpse of the scale of these projects and the construction itself. You may see asbestos products and equipment that you recognize. Were you employed at sites like these during their construction or afterward? Want to add your pictures?
