Tyler Sherrill is an attorney at Ward Black Law in Greensboro, North Carolina, where he works on personal injury, hearing loss, asbestos, and workers’ compensation matters. He is committed to helping injured people and their families navigate difficult circumstances with clarity, diligence, and strong advocacy. Tyler approaches each case with the belief that clients deserve careful attention, honest communication, and a lawyer who is willing to put in the work necessary to pursue the best possible result.
A native of Charlotte, North Carolina, Tyler earned his undergraduate degree in economics with distinction from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he also minored in entrepreneurship. He went on to earn both his J.D. from Elon University School of Law and his MBA from Elon University. During law school, Tyler graduated cum laude, ranked 13th in his class, received Dean’s Scholarship recognition, and made the Dean’s List for four semesters. He was also involved in Moot Court Board and We The People Constitutional Law Journal.
Tyler’s interest in the law was shaped by a lifelong understanding of leadership as service. His experience in Boy Scouts taught him that making a difference means stepping up, taking responsibility, and helping others when they need it most. That sense of purpose deepened during college when he volunteered with A Helping Hand in Durham, working directly with older adults who could not fully care for themselves. That experience taught him patience, humility, and empathy, and it helped confirm his desire to advocate for people who have been injured through no fault of their own.
Before joining Ward Black Law in June 2025 as a law clerk, Tyler gained legal experience through roles with the North Carolina Supreme Court, Hartsoe & Associates, and Latorre Law Firm. His background includes legal research, drafting complaints and motions, preparing client communications, and working on matters involving personal injury, civil procedure, workers’ compensation, property law, and insurance claims.
Tyler feels especially called to serve older individuals, believing that justice is not limited by age and that every person deserves to have their rights protected. Outside the office, he enjoys spending time outdoors, especially in the mountains and at the beach, and cheering on the Panthers, the Tar Heels, and the Hurricanes.
