A Legacy of Care, and a Future of Purpose: Ward Black Law’s Leadership Transition
Ward Black Law Announces New Ownership: Attorneys Audrey and Gabriel Snyder to Lead Firm
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
GREENSBORO, N.C., January 7, 2025 – Ward Black Law announced today that attorneys Audrey Snyder and Gabriel Snyder have purchased the firm and continue its long-standing mission of serving clients across North Carolina with excellence, compassion, and integrity. Audrey has been with the firm for nine years, and Gabriel has been with the firm for eight years. Together, they will guide Ward Black Law as co-owners and leaders of the firm’s next chapter.
The transition follows years of intentional planning by founder Janet Ward Black, who invested deeply in preparing the next generation of leadership and ensuring a strong foundation for the firm’s future. Even after her ALS diagnosis in May of 2025, Janet Ward remained closely involved in shaping the succession plan and planned for Audrey to become managing attorney, regardless of ownership.
“For years, Janet Ward poured into Audrey and Gabriel as leaders and into this firm as a family,” said Executive Director Ronda Holloway. “Now Audrey and Gabriel are carrying on that legacy, preserving the values she cherished and keeping the heart of Ward Black Law strong for our clients and community.”
A Continuation of the Mission and the Ward Black Law Family
Ward Black Law continues to operate under the same name, with the same Greensboro office, and the same mission to “seek justice, give generously, and love lavishly as a Christian-led law firm.” The firm has always viewed itself as a family, and there is deep gratitude that its future remains in the hands of attorneys who have grown within that family and share their heart for clients, colleagues, and the community.
“It was of greatest importance to Janet Ward that the unique law firm she created should continue to be a pillar of the legal profession as a Christian-led firm serving the seriously injured,” said her husband, Gerard Davidson. “This team is fully equipped to carry on her legacy of excellence and caring.”
“We are honored to carry forward the work and values that Janet Ward instilled in this firm,” Audrey said. “Our commitment remains steady. Clients will continue to see the same faces, experience the same care, and know that we are here to stand beside them.”
“Ward Black Law has always been defined by its people and its purpose,” Gabriel added. “Audrey and I are dedicated to preserving that legacy and making sure our clients continue to receive the representation, compassion, and support they deserve.”
About Audrey Snyder
Audrey has been a key member of Ward Black Law’s leadership team, focusing her practice on complex injury and asbestos-related cases while serving clients across North Carolina. She plays an instrumental role in guiding strategy, mentoring attorneys and staff, and ensuring that every case receives the high level of attention and care that clients expect from Ward Black Law.
Audrey attended Campbell University, earning her J.D. from Campbell University School of Law, where she received the Order of Old Kivett for excellence in advocacy and ethics. She has served in numerous statewide leadership positions, including President of the North Carolina Association for Women Attorneys and Chair of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice Women’s Caucus and Products Liability, Class Actions & Mass Torts Sections. Her work has been recognized by The National Trial Lawyers “Top 40 Under 40,” Triad Business Journal’s “40 Under 40,” Super Lawyers Rising Star, and Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America for consecutive years.
About Gabriel Snyder
Gabriel Snyder is a personal injury, workers’ compensation, and eminent domain attorney whose passion for his work is deeply personal. As a young adult, he survived a devastating car crash caused by a drunk driver, a crash that took his sister’s life and left him facing multiple surgeries, a medically induced coma, and extensive rehabilitation. That experience fuels his empathy for clients navigating life-changing injuries and loss, and his conviction that a lawyer can stand in the gap in ways clients may not yet realize they need.
Gabriel earned both his Bachelor of Science and Juris Doctor from Campbell University. Early in his career, he successfully argued before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. He has been recognized by Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America, named a Readers’ Choice “Favorite” Personal Injury Attorney by the Greensboro News & Record, and has served in leadership roles with the North Carolina Advocates for Justice, including as Chair of the Auto Torts and Premises Liability Sections.
What Clients Can Expect
