Local Outreach

There are many Triad, N.C., lawyers hard at work in the courtroom and community every day. Ward Black Law is proud to partner with these law firms and other organizations to make Greensboro and our state a better place to live. Ward Black Law’s local outreach efforts are more than just our personal commitments to service: they say a lot about what our Christian-owned law firm understands about seeking justice and caring for our neighbors.

Janet Ward Black and many members of the Ward Black Law team reach out every year to provide free legal consultations and resources to thousands of North Carolinians through the “4ALL” campaign. Janet Ward served as President of the North Carolina Bar Association during this initiative focused on those in our state who are at or below the poverty line. Each year, our lawyers continue to participate in “4 ALL” Day, during which North Carolina lawyers answer legal questions for N.C. citizens unable to afford legal counsel.

The Out of the Garden Project of Greensboro seeks to identify and support children in our schools who receive free or subsidized lunches, and may not have enough to eat at home on the weekends. We help collect non-perishable foods for these children and their families with our ongoing support.

We spend countless hours working for our veterans and their families in the courtroom, and are thrilled to work alongside local U.S. Marines each year when we turn our Greensboro, N.C., office into a donation center for our local Toys for Tots program. Over the years, we have helped raise money and collected toy donations that help make Christmas special for Triad, N.C., children in need.

Ward Black Law is also playing a special role in the forthcoming Carolina Field of Honor veterans memorial. The installment will be housed in Triad Park, and will be one of the largest of its kind in the state. We are proud financial sponsors of the project, and WBL’s own Afi Johnson-Parris is a founding member of the Board of Directors for this initiative.

Many people in our community are in critical need of mental health and counseling services that cannot afford them. Restoration Place Counseling works to bridge that gap, and offers extremely low-cost services and Biblically-based counseling to women in our hometown. Ward Black Law is a sponsor of their yearly Restoration Runway fashion show event, which helps fund the ministry’s initiatives.

At Ward Black Law, we know our community is stronger through the dedicated sacrifice of many volunteers, programs that serve those in need, and all those who work with the compassion and integrity we value as a firm. Together with our community, Triad, N.C., lawyers and Ward Black Law are working to make our state a great place to live for everyone.
