Miss North Carolina World Changer Scholarship Presentation
Ward Black Law is excited to sponsor an educational scholarship for the Miss North Carolina Scholarship Fund once again, this year. Ward Black Law has a unique history with the Miss North Carolina Pageant. Janet Ward Black, president and managing partner, was Miss North Carolina 1980. “The scholarships I received from my participation in Miss North Carolina helped me to finish my education at Davidson College, and my law degree at Duke University. The Miss America program continues to be the largest scholarship program for women in the world, and our law firm is proud to be a scholarship sponsor for this year’s Miss North Carolina pageant.”
In 2016 the Ward Black Law “World Changer Scholarship” was awarded to Kali Whitaker, Miss Central Carolina, a native of Mocksville, North Carolina. Kali, currently works with Cisco Systems, and is using the scholarship funds to pursue her Master’s Degree in Telecommunications at the Kenan Flagler School of Business at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. Kali is very involved with Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Triangle and uses her success as a catalyst to advocate for the organization.
Ward Black Law will again, for the 2017 Miss North Carolina pageant, be providing a $1,000.00 World Changer Scholarship to one of the contestants. The finals for the Miss North Carolina pageant will be held Saturday, June 24, 2017 in Raleigh. Ms. Black will present the 2017 World Changer Scholarship on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 on stage to this year’s winner.
