Bayer To Stop Selling Essure Birth Control Implants

Owned by Bayer HealthCare, Essure is a permanent birth control system that has been available for over a decade and used by more than a half million patients. It is marketed as an alternative for women who wish to end their fertility but do not want to undergo surgery to have their tubes tied (tubal ligation).

Bayer just announced that it would “discontinue sales of its controversial Essure birth control implant by the end of the year.”  Read more…
