US Marine Corps Reserve, Ward Black Law, Lambeth-Troxler Host Toys for Tots 2009 Kick Off Campaign
GREENSBORO, NC - The US Marine Corps, Greensboro personal injury firm Ward Black Law and Key Memories™ funeral provider Lambeth-Troxler Funeral and Cremation Service are teaming up December 4th for the 2009 Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots kick off campaign, “Operation Santa’s Helper.”
The Toys for Tots drive will be held at the corner of West Wendover and Virginia Avenue in Greensboro outside business neighbors Lambeth-Troxler and Ward Black Law, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4, 2009. The public is invited to stop by and donate new, unwrapped gifts that will be distributed to needy children by the Marines in the Greensboro area over the Christmas holidays.
The event is part of a larger Toys for Tots drive, “Brother Bill’s Toy Hill,” a multi-weekend event promoted by WTQR radio personality Brother Bill. All toys collected at the Ward Black Law/Lambeth-Troxler drop location will be taken to Wal-Mart in Kernersville on Saturday, Dec. 12, the culmination of Brother Bill’s Toy Hill. The toys will be escorted in a Marine convoy.
The event will be a fun-filled day for all who participate.
• Krispy Kreme will provide free doughnut in the morning for toy donors.
• Ward Black Law will provide free biscuits for breakfast (sponsored in part by Bojangle’s)
• Lambeth-Troxler will provide free BBQ for lunch and dinner in the afternoon.
• Marines in uniform will be on site to collect the donated toys.
• Brother Bill from WTQR will be on-site from 11-1.
• CVS will be on-site to provide free health screening to donors.
• The Marine Hummer will be on-site.
• “Gunny Claus” will be there to visit with the kids.
• The Greensboro Fire Department will be there. (TBD)
“Toys for Tots is really a double blessing,” said Janet Ward Black, Greensboro attorney and former president of the North Carolina Bar Association. “Donors are not only reaching out to needy families in our community, but they’re also supporting the men and women in our military. Isn’t that a cool way to celebrate Christmas?”
“As a former Marine, I have been involved in the program for several years. I have seen first hand how Toys for Tots helps make a difference in children’s lives during the Christmas season,” said Neil Breed, Funeral Director and Public Relations Coordinator at Lambeth-Troxler. “This effort will help the Marines fulfill the hopes of more than 43,000 needy children in Greensboro and the surrounding area this year.”
