Janet Ward Black to Speak on Panel at Diversity Leadership Conference

On Friday, September 16, 2011, at the Empire Room in Greensboro, Janet Ward Black will join Joyce Richman, Mona Edwards, and Donna Newton in a panel discussion, “Tips from Successful Female Leaders,” moderated by former Channel 2 news anchor, Sandra Hughes.

Joyce Richman, well-known career advisor, Mona Edwards, vice president at the Center for Creative Leadership, and Donna Newton of the Community Foundation of Greensboro along with Janet Ward will answer questions and give personal tips about their experiences in becoming and being leaders in the community.

The panel itself is only one part of the day long Diversity Leadership Conference being presented by The HR Group, NC Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services, the Greensboro Mayor’s Committee for Persons with Disabilities and the News and Record.  Other topics include “Uncovering Barriers to Diversity,” “Diversity in Education,” “Diversity and Inclusion in the News,” “Building the 2020 Workforce,” and “Teamwork in Multicultural Environments.”  Among the noted speakers are Tom Ross, president of the UNC system, and Johnny C. Taylor, Jr., president and CEO of the Thurgood Marshall College Fund.
