Digitek
Digitek® is an oral medication used in the treatment of heart failure and arrhythmias. Actavis ATotowa LLC issued a Class I nationwide recall of Digitek® on April 28, 2008. The company discovered tablets which were double the thickness, potentially containing twice the approved level of the medication, may have been released and sold to consumers.
Patients with renal failure are particularly at risk as double-doses of Digitek® can cause digitalis medicines to accumulate in the body rather than being excreted through the urine. The same symptoms may occur in individuals who are suffering from dehydration.
Symptoms of toxicity from digitalis drugs are nausea, comiting, dizzinesss, low blood pressure, cardiac instability and bradycardia.
Ward Black Law is investigating cases in which Digitek® users have suffered heart attack, bradycardia (slow heartbeat), cardiac instability, sudden cardiac death or renal infarction. Please contact us a info@wardblacklaw.com or at 1-800-531-9191.
