Black to Participate in a Seminar on Master Female Litigators
Janet Ward Black will join fellow attorneys, Nicole Crawford, Trish Holland and Mona Lisa Wallace in a panel discussion on the Master Female Litigators at the 33rd Annual Conference of the North Carolina Association of Women Attorneys at Grandover Resort in Greensboro on Friday, September 16.
The hour-long seminar will cover several topics including the role of women litigators in the legal system, addressing cultural issues, diversity and social norms. It will also offer advice on how to address issues such as jury bias and stereotypes. The importance of community service and public interest work and the overall success of their practices will be covered in the discussions also.
This panel discussion will only be the introduction to two days of beneficial presentations about the law including presentations by guest speakers, the Honorable Kay Hagan, U.S. Senator from North Carolina and the Honorable Allyson Duncan, judge for the U.S. Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. In addition, author and attorney, Dr. Tomi Bryan will speak to the group about keeping your composure in uncomfortable situations and during a conflict. Dr. Bryan, the author of The 5 Keys to the Great Life, will talk about how mastering this skill can contribute to “having a great life and a great career.”
